Academy Slavia

The football academy is part of the structure of PFC “Slavia” – 1913. The club was founded on April 10, 1913. and is the first club in Bulgaria that conducts activities with youth formations. Training began in the early 1920s and continues to this day!

Academy for football development of young players

Football, known globally as the beautiful game, thrives on the talent and skill of its players. The Football Academy stands out as a beacon for aspiring young footballers, offering a comprehensive strategy for nurturing and building future stars. For the Academy

The club has always relied on its juniors, developing their qualities during the years of preparation, with the aim of successfully building them as footballers and as individuals. One of the most important goals in our football academy is the integration of our players into the first team after the training stages during their development years. In the representative team of the club, graduates of the white school have always participated. As before and now, the team includes several names of players who made their football journey precisely in our Academy. These are Svetoslav Vutsov, Emil Martinov, Martin Georgiev, Chung Do, Christian Stoyanov, Emil Stoev, Martin Sorakov and Roberto Raichev.

With a mission to identify, nurture, and propel young talents into the limelight, the Academy’s strategy encompasses a holistic approach that goes beyond the conventional training regimen.

Training Steps and Levels

Training at Slavia Academy starts at the age of six and continues until the age of eighteen.
In the training process, the young footballers pre-
even through several major stages of development.

7 – 11 – initial training and laying the foundations
in the development of technical skills and general coordination
12 – U15 – individual technical skills with the ball, speed, dexterity, agility
15-16 – targeted tactical training begins
16 – 19 – purposeful training process, TE-TA development and improvement, creation of prerequisites for the development of elite athletes.
Enrollment in the Academy is possible throughout the year, and those who wish to study at the age of 14 pass a trial period.

The academy has representatives in all three elite youth groups U17, U16, U15
The teams from the Academy regularly participate in many prestigious tournaments, in the country and abroad. Every child who actively participates in the activities and studies at the Academy has the opportunity to play for the representative team of the respective age.

Challenges and Solutions

The path to football stardom is not without hurdles.Academy Slavia recognizes and addresses common challenges faced by young talents, implementing strategic solutions to ensure that setbacks become stepping stones to greater achievements.

Infrastructure

There are 6 fields on the territory of the Academy where the teams conduct their daily activities and training. Two of the pitches have natural grass, and the other two pitches have an artificial surface.

The pitches are distributed in such a way that any form of game that the trainees go through in the training process can be practiced on them (F5, F7, F9, F11).

The base of the Academy has warm and cozy dressing rooms where the teams gather and prepare before and after training. Each age has a separate changing room, which after each practice is cleaned and prepared for the next age.

The Academy teams have at their disposal the club’s own fitness center, which is located immediately after the changing rooms of the base.

Lighting has been installed on the two artificial pitches, which provides additional comfort and the possibility of training and holding matches in the later hours and in the winter.

The Academy teams play their home matches at the club base.
