Футболен клуб “Славия” е най-старото спортно дружество в България. Той е основан на 10.IV.1913 година от обединението на спортен клуб “Ботев” (1909) и гимнастическо дружество “Развитие” (1910). През различните години носи имената: “Славия’45” (1945-1946), “Строител” (1949-1950), “Ударник” (1951-1957) и “ЖСК-Славия” (1968-1971). За пръв председател е избран Димитър Благоев (Пальо).

“Slavia” was the first Bulgarian team to qualify for the semifinals of a European club tournament – March 8, 1967. This is an unsurpassed achievement for a football team from Bulgaria to this day. The National Cup semi-finals against Rangers (Glasgow) will be played in Sofia on April 19 and in Glasgow on May 3.
